A new era is about to begin for Cyprus Airports

The new Larnaca International Airport Terminal including new equipment and systems was completed on schedule and has been officially delivered.

The inauguration of the New Larnaca International Airport will take place on Saturday, 7th November 2009 and the official opening for operations will be towards the end of the same month. During this interval and until the official opening, staff will undergo continuous and extensive training in order to familiarize themselves with the new terminal, high-tech equipment and the operation systems. Like Pafos International Airport, the New Larnaca International Airport has been delivered within the specified time frame and agreed expenditure.

The new terminal of the New Larnaca International Airport covers an area of 100.000 sq. meters and will be able to handle an annual 7.5 million passengers.
 
Amongst other things, it will feature:
  • 67 check-in counters
  • 15 airline ticket sales counters
  • 16 aircraft walkways
  • 11 arrival/departure bus drop off points
  • 7 security points
  • 5 baggage conveyor belts
  • 2200 parking spaces
  • Easy access to the highway
  • VIP lounge
  • Business lounge
  • Restaurants, cafes and duty free shops
  • Car rental services
  • Surveillance systems
