 Chelsea FC support Radiomarathon Charity in Cyprus
Late September saw the highlight of the Cyprus sporting calendar – a Champions League game in which our very own APOEL played against the famous Chelsea FC English Premiership Team. Premier DMC was honoured to be appointed as the ground handler for Chelsea during their stay in Cyprus.
Premier DMC were assigned responsibility for handling all land arrangements of the team and arrangements of Chelsea FC for their Champions League game against APOEL. As well as responsibility for all the team transfers and ensuring smooth operations at each of their arrival and departure points during their important sporting trip, the Premier team were on hand to assist the team officials with all the finer details of their trip.
Also in October we had Radiomarathon -the biggest annual charity fundraising effort in Cyprus now in its 20th year for children with special needs. Premier DMC supports this very worthy cause every year, but this year, we requested an official Team shirt signed by Chelsea for the annual Radiomarathon auction. The team officials and players readily responded to our efforts to support the charity and we would like to once again thank them for their kind gesture and support of our charity and wish them every success in achieving their targets.
 A Very Special Cyprus Wedding
Premier DMC has over time built up an extensive network of partners and clients that we have worked with for many years. We know our destination has a lot to offer when presented by a DMC that knows it as well as we do. Nothing pleases us more than one of our own agents choosing our destination for a very special occasion as we feel this is the highest possible recommendation for Cyprus. From so many destinations, and so many DMCs, we were honoured that the Premier team and Cyprus were chosen to organize and host the wedding of Paul and Linda Fitzgerald from Oxford Motivation UK and to share in this very unique moment in their lives. Premier DMC arranged a beautiful and personal wedding service at the luxurious 5 star Four Seasons hotel, where the professional and expert team of the hotel combined with Premier creativity and organization, delivered a unique and memorable event for this special couple. Olga Xanthou-Kondo our director and Nick Aristou from the Four Seasons were also witnesses. We would like to wish them a long and happy life together filled with good health and love!.
 Spotlight on local delicacy: Cyprus Halloumi
Now that Cyprus halloumi has finally become a registered trademark certified by the European Union, it is firmly established as being a Cypriot speciality cheese. For generations, the traditional halloumi recipe has been passed on in Cyprus to make this wonderful semi-hard and versatile cheese. With a delicious taste, this cheese is loved by all ages and is now known and enjoyed all over the world.
Halloumi is unique in terms of both its ingredients and shape. The cheese is made of a mixture of goat or sheep and cow’s milk, with fresh mint leaves and then folded to give a distinctive shape when cut. Halloumi is wonderful when eaten fresh, fried, grilled on the barbecue or baked and as it does not melt, it is very easy to serve heated. There are many wonderful recipes which include halloumi, handed down through generations of Cypriot families and also put together by some of the world’s top chefs, who appreciate the qualities of our small island’s unique cheese delicacy.
If you are not already regularly eating Cyprus halloumi, we urge you to try it in the various ways mentioned above, and to seek out some recipes from famous chefs. Although the best way to enjoy halloumi is always in Cyprus, served straight from a charcoal barbecue in an authentic village tavern. Delicious!
 EIBTM 2009
Premier DMC will once again be attending EIBTM from 1-3rd December 2009 in Barcelona, Spain on the Cyprus Tourism Organisation stand number O500. We will be exhibiting with the Four Seasons and presenting our new exclusive packages for the 2009/2010 season.
