Why Bother?
Recently an industry partner asked why, at
Premier DMC, we regularly expose our new ideas and suggestions online
and through our newsletters, giving potential tips away. This made me
reflect on what I consider our role as a DMC to be and why an event
organizer would contact us if they already know the options available.
DMCs normally assist with site selection, staffing resources during an
event, dining and entertainment as well as ground handling. For us,
however, a DMC service is not just about booking a dinner party but
about all the logistics required to make an event a success.
There are sometimes things which are outside everyone’s control, for
example:
A catering event in a Village Square in the middle of a remote
picturesque village suddenly experiencing unseasonal rain! A charter
flight home breaking down, or the recent ash cloud which threw all
travel into chaos. These are situations which present huge challenges,
and it is under these circumstances where the value of the service

Nowadays, clients don’t always value the DMC role! But you must

hotel experience, not only through the correct choice of activities and

A DMC is also there to support you before, during and after your event,
and in most cases of
professional event planning, this is an invaluable part of the
service, and sometimes the very essence of its success. This ensures
that even if there are small mishaps, they are dealt with so quickly and
effectively, that most of your guests will be completely unaware of them
as the DMC works tirelessly to resolve them. It is all part of the
service, to take the headache out of your corporate travel and allow you
to simply enjoy and focus on the real objectives of the event.

Look for
a team with experience, good reputation and
who has handled a large number of varied. A good DMC team is passionate
about their work and their destination and will be perfectionists who
want every little detail to be just right to ensure the success of the
